Registration of Martin Sargsyan by...

Registration of Martin Sargsyan by the Central Election Commission on June 6 was a violation of Article 65 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. While being registered as a deputy, the individual may not hold an office in state and local self-government bodies or be engaged in entrepreneurial activities. However while receiving an MP mandate, M. Sargsyan was still the head of Shengavit district of Yerevan. By the government decision he resigned his commission as head of district only a couple of days ago during the first session of the newly-formed government.
