On February 16, 2015, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts rejected Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) NGO’s complaint litigating the lawfulness of the law enforcement bodies’ decision on demolishing Afrikyans’ House.

It should be reminded that օn June 16, 2014, TIAC filed a report on crime to RA Prosecutor General (cc Chief of Police) on demolishing “Afrikyans’ House” monument-building in Teryan Street, which is a historical and cultural monument of republican importance. Based on the report, Central investigation department of RA Police (now investigative department of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of RA Investigation Department) made a decision to reject opening a criminal case substantiating the absence of corpus delicti. Yerevan city prosecutor’s office rejected TIAC complaint against that decision, thus confirming the lawfulness of the investigator’s decision.

On June 16, 2014, TIAC filed a complaint to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, requiring that the decisions made by Central investigation department of RA Police and Yerevan city prosecutor’s office be abolished. However, the court rejected the complaint filed on February 16, 2015 substantiating that it was ungrounded.
