On June 29, 2018, Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) presented its new report “State Funding of RA Education System: Key Issues.” The study was completed ​​with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of their "Engaged Citizenry for Responsible Governance" program.

The purpose of the research was to clarify how the Armenian state budget allocated to education is spent, the quality of education delivered, and the performance indicators used to measure its effectiveness and the results achieved in recent years. The results can be used to review expenditures and reallocate the education funds more efficiently.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Arevik Anapiosyan, USAID Program Officer Lusine Hakobyan, and TIAC Executive Director Sona Ayvazyan delivered opening speeches. Artak Kyurumyan, an expert in public policy and governance, presented the key issues facing state funding of the Armenian education system. The event was attended by nearly sixty participants, including experts in the field, public sector officials, NGO representatives, and the press.
