On May 13, 2016 Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director and Khachik Harutyunyan, Anticorruption Expert of Transparency International Anticorruption Center took part in and made presentations during “Government-Civil Society” anticorruption conference. Varuzhan Hoktanyan addressed anticorruption policy in Armenia and Khachik Harutyunyan presented the challenges to meet in business sector corruption and the opportunities of cooperation. The event was organized by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the Freedom of Information Center of Armenia in the scope of the “Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion” Project funded by the EU and co-funded by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.

In the opinion of Hoktanyan the laws were not bad in Armenia but they mostly remain on paper. Referring to the Prime Minister’s statement Varuzhan Hoktanyan mentioned that he had double impression. On the one hand there was understanding that we faced most serious challenges, on the other hand it had declarative nature but there was no such need.
