Election observation mission from Armenia will be monitoring the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections in Artsakh. Prime Minister Pashinyan announced yesterday that monitors going to Artsakh were going to be test for Coronavirus using rapid test kits. Union of Informed citizens and Transparency International Armenia Anticorruption Center will be monitoring the elections in Artsakh.

CivilNet has spoken to these organizations to find out how the testing procedure will take place and whether or not the monitoring groups will leave for Artsakh.

Sona Ayvazyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anticorruption Center said that their first group of election monitors was already tested for Coronavirus and was going to depart for Artsakh today. The observers were tested for Coronavirus with the regular test kits.

“We are trying to somewhat restructure our mission by attempting to go to Artsakh with a smaller number of observers as conducting a normal electoral process in such conditions is not possible,” Ayvazyan stated.
