Transparency International Anti-corruption Center in cooperation with Transparency International Lithuania convened a workshop to discuss risks and opportunities for NGOs in Armenia. The workshop was held on March 31, 2010 within the framework of Boosting NGO Participatory Capacity in Armenia project with the assistance of The National Endowment for Democracy. The presentations stimulated robust exchange among dozens of NGO representatives participating in the event.

TIAC Chairwoman Amalia Kostanyan welcomed the audience with opening remarks. Project Director, TIAC Board Member Sona Ayvazyan delivered a keynote address by presenting findings of the study on NGO sector in Armenia. It was followed by presentations of Sergey Muravjov and Ange Kazlauskaite of Transparency International Lithuania who examined best practice from Lithuania and the region. They focused on organizing civic campaigns and gaining more public support, use of social media in good governance advocacy, as well as innovative ways to fundraise.

Sergey Muravjov, the Executive Director of TI Lithuania and TI Board Member summed up the workshop with closing remarks.
