On the occasion of International Volunteer Day our volunteer Charlie Rose shares his experience at TIAC. “I started working at Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center (TIAC) in February 2017 as an intern. Despite negotiating Yerevan’s treacherous winter ice to get to TIAC’s office, I received a warm reception and immediately felt welcome. I started working on preparatory tasks related to Citizen Observer Initiative’s (COI) observation mission of Armenia’s parliamentary elections, held on 02 April. I was part of COI’s media team on the day of the election. Having previously researched elections in Armenia, the opportunity to get practical experience was very appealing to me.

The team at TIAC are dedicated professionals who are working towards ridding Armenia of corruption. They also have a great sense of humour and know how to have fun. I’ve never hesitated to ask the team questions about life in Armenia, no matter how challenging or trivial the questions are. They’re not interested in sugar coating Armenia. Working with such a team has been an enriching experience.”

TIAC is delighted to have volunteers like Charlie who is engaged in fight against corruption, and will further continue their involvement in carrying out its mission.
