On September 26, 2017 within the framework of USAID funded “Engaged Citizenry for Responsible Governance” project, Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) together with its Hungary based consortium partner European Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ECNL), organized a working discussion on the new law of the Republic of Armenia on public organizations.

The meeting brought together representatives of “NGO Center” CSD NGO, Eurasia Partnership Foundation, AGBU, Helsinki Citizens Assembly Vanadzor Office and USAID.

They were actively involved in the development of the Law on Public Organizations and during their regional meetings with NGOs they revealed a number of issues related to law enforcement due to the new provisions in law, in particular, regarding entrepreneur activities, opportunities to involve volunteers, accountability to the State Revenue Committee as an authorized body, etc. The experts expressed their opinions on the discussed issues based on international practices.
