On April 1, 2009, Amalia Kostanyan, Chairwoman of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center hosted a group of Birthright Armenia young Diasporans from the USA, France, and Canada who volunteered in Armenia from 2 to 6 months in various sectors. The interactive forum reflected on political situation in Armenia with a special focus on corruption, civil and political rights and freedoms. It enabled the volunteers to share their perceptions on the on-going developments in Armenia and get a better understanding of the political processes.

Birthright Armenia envisions a powerful, broad-based network of organizations and individuals committed to making service to and experiences in Armenia an essential rite of passage afforded to all young Armenians across the world. Its mission is to strengthen ties between the homeland and Diasporan youth by affording them an opportunity to be a part of Armenia's daily life and to contribute to Armenia's development through work, study and volunteer experiences.
