Organized in protection of Teghut Forest, Teghut Defense Group staged a protest action in front of the government building on Thursday, November 13, 2008. The protesters reiterated their appeal to overrule government decisions 1278-N and 1279-N of November 1, 2007 on operating Teghut copper-molybdenum mine and to stop the work on the territory of the deposit, in particular enormous logging, due to large-scale damage to the environment and human health and the inexpediency of wasting resources of strategic importance.

The actions by Teghut Defense Group will continue, since new mines are being exploited day by day and the ecological situation is becoming disastrous.
