Debate: Human Rights chapter in Constitutional Changes
Heriknaz Tigranyan, Legal Adviser of Transparency International Anticorruption Center (TIAC) took part in an online debate “Constitutional Changes: Human Rights” held by Media Center and cybercast at A1plus.am. The process of constitutional changes lasting over two years came to an end. Referendum on Constitutional reforms will be held on December 6, 2015. Chapter 2, Fundamental Human and Citizen’s Rights and Freedoms covers problematic provisions recording regress that were not not corrected even in the edited version presented to National Assembly. Heriknaz Tigranyan considered problematic “constitutional defenselessness” of social rights in the draft constitutional changes and a number of other provisions.
Other speakers of the debate were Artur Sakunts, Head of Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office, Avetik Ishkhanyan, Head of Helsinki Committee of Armenia and Armen Grigoryan, political analyst, "No Pasaran" (“You Won’t Pass”) Civic Initiative.
