Election postmen get down to work
A number of postmen will walk in Armenia's settlements and collect issues of concern from citizens to address them to political forces. Effective February 1, 2012 a new phase of "Election postman: Parliamentary elections-2012" is launched. The project is carried out jointly by Transparency International Anti-corruption Center and its partner NGOs - "Asparez" Journalists' Club and Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office.

A candlelight vigil on the occasion of the Army Day
At 6:30 pm on January 28, 2012 on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed forces in Armenia a candlelight vigil was held in Yerevan's center with the participation of the parents of servicemen deceased in non-combat situations in the army, activists of "The Army in Reality" civic initiative, as well as many citizens concerned with the problems of the army. They staged a silent march with candle lights, the portraits of the deceased soldiers, and posters from Square of Liberty through Northern Avenue to Republic Square.

Corruption implies violations of human rights
In his comments to "Yerkir" daily newspaper Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center noted that though Freedom House's Freedom in the World 2012 ranked Armenia as a partly free country, it is in the boundary between partly free and not free countries. As a rule it is the corrupt countries that appear in the boundary though it is not always so. However the mere existence of corruption implies human rights violations.

"It won't be so easy to take Teghut away from us!"
In an interview to "Human Rights in Armenia" electronic media Lena Nazaryan, Project Specialist of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center and a member of Teghut Defense Group spoke about the Group's initiative of organizing an informative trip-action on January 15, 2012 intended to raise awareness about the Teghut issue. About 250 young people made a site visit to Teghut and Shnogh villages to see with their own eyes what was going on and to replace abstract notions with real scenes.
